Hello,

I am wondering if this is possible? I am not happy with 2014’s gears in the DSG. Revs too high at highway speed. My old 2011 had lower gear ratio at 6th gear and rev happily at 1700-1800 rpm at 65 mph while my 2014 revs at 2k rpm. My old 2011 revs at 75 mph at 2k rpm while 2014 Revs too high around 2200-2300 rpm that caused MPG to drop greatly.

Huh, I thought the newer DSG boxes were supposed to have taller gears. My '11 6mt did 75mph @ 2000 rpm, pretty sure a stock '11 dsg would be turning ~2300 @ 75.

Interesting. My old 2011 was built on July or Aug 2010, it may have older DSG. It was the earliest 2011 MY to be released. When was yours built?

3/11, but it was a manual not automatic.

Everything I can find online for 1st and 2nd final drive ratios for JSW shows the same ratios for all diesel models from 2010-2014. Do you have information or a link that shows otherwise?

No, my biggest pet peeve is the 6th gear. Its too high at the freeway speed. That bothered me the most. Its like 6th gear and sport mode 6th gear is the same. My old 2011 JSW had different gears on final 6th gear and sport 6th gear. Its like if my 2014 JSW is constantly on sport 6th gear revving so high.

Sport mode only changes the shift points, it can't change the physical gear ratios. At some point the automatics got some taller gears, maybe that was for the '15 m.y. cars. The manuals got a taller 6th gear in '10 or '11.

Ok, I will look for pictures of my 2011 speedo and 2014 speedo at 65 mph. You guys will see that I am not hallucinating. :) give me few days to find it.

I said FINAL DRIVE ratios, my understanding is that gears 1-4 have a different final drive ratio than gears 5-6. That said, as others have said, Sport button doesn't change the gear ratio of 6th gear, it would however change how and when it switches from 5th to 6th.
