DSG fluid change

It's time to change the transmission fluid (40,000 miles) so I went to VW dealer and bought the fluid @ $26 per quart. Can anyone tell me if any other ATF fluid is compatible? This seems like a scam to me.

It may very well be overpriced but I have not noticed any discussusions yet advocating for other fluids. I think this transmission is too new yet and the cost implications too great to experiment. JMHO

lots of links to useful info.. plus... don't go to the dealer for the fluid.. It's much cheaper online, and if prices have stayed the same, or gone lower, the DIY price for fluid and filter is under $150. Add the tool for approx 80 oem, or 20 for a make it your self unit and this procedure is better done by those you trust.... YOURSELF!

Just did the math again from 1st VW Parts and it came to 123 including their minimum shipping charge
