Corrosion Warranty

I just bought a 2001 Jetta TDI about a month ago. I just noticed a rust haze about the size of a quarter on the trunk to the upper left of the license plate. I know it is the start of a rust spot. I am the third owner of the vehicle. Will VW still honor the corrosion warranty? Thoughts?

The 12 year corrosion warranty only covers perforation.

you mean it has to blow up to a real hole before they think it is rust?

yes- it has to rust all the way through before the warranty covers it.

And it has to rust from the inside out.
