cel on caused by parking brake

I drove with E brake on for 1 block. now , CEL is on. Is CEL caused by parking brake? will it shut off by itself after 50 cranks?

Probably won't clear itself. I heard Autozone will reset it free of charge if you can't find someone with a vagcom.

i think it will clear itself after so many cycles of no more fault.. that number varied by ecu type.... assuming that is what caused the fault...

I may be wrong, but I doubt that the emergency brake will cause a CEL. If I remember correctly one of the more astute members of the forum had an easy way to disable his DRL's, he drove around with the parking brake engaged one click. He didn't mention a CEL. And he definitely knew what he was doing.
