Mounted some new summer 16s.

I was going to balance them, but this time I'm trying the steel shot trick....

I put 10oz in each tire. See what happens.

Forget that trick, it will not do anything but really screw up balance.

If you've ever gotten water in a tire you will know what I mean.

Airlift bag in a H&R spring. Pretty sure I'm the first one to do that.

Now it sit the same with or without trailer.

Got a part/model number on that airbag lift?
This is the airlift 80753, it is perfect for stock height spring.
But, if I was to do it again I would use the airlift 80777 which is 1,75 inch shorter.

Because I'm running lower than stock (H&R) spring, I ended up not using the supplied "spacer/protector" in order for them to fit in.
Time will tell if its going to affect their durability.

I've heard they need a minimum PSI otherwise they'll develop a tear along the body of them, keep an eye on them.

How are you routing the filling port/valve? I've been toying with the idea of placing mine by the fuel filler door.

Yeah, I heard that... Pretty much impossible to remove them without damaging the bag. If/when they fail I'll install the shorter kit.

Valve are under the bumper, pretty much invisible without kneeling.

This above looks really clean man. Nice! If I have the need to put a hitch on mine I’ll do this for sure for the trailer lights.

whoa, you went with two valves and not a T so each bag are even? you going to fine tune each bag depending if there is a passenger or not?

very nice install, did you have to pull the bumper cover off to mount those?

No removal needed.
It's not really for fine tuning, it's to find out quickly which one is leaking!

No removal needed? So, you can just reach into the centre cavity and route the air lines from there (?).

Or do you just mean that the bottom valance comes off separately / cleanly?

Driving home the other night (clear, perfect summer evening), suddenly I get a warning message that "FRONT ASSIST SENSOR BLOCKED"
(?!)
Only ever seen this before in the winter when snow/slush builds up on it.

Get home and...

Wash and some Simoniz ceramic wax today.
Still have a lot of swirls I need to work on but that will be later this year before I start that.

Replaced the original battery with a Kirkland group 48 yesterday.

Use this plug made by noco specifically designed to prevent computer reset while doing battery replacement.

Didn't work, and it shorted my obd fuse.

Managed to enter new battery value with obdeleven and reset "most" of all the alarm, the few left resetted themselves within few minute of driving.

Over all I shouldn't have used this fancy ecu saver cable and went the way I always did, alligator clip the battery cable on the new battery while replacing.

Found a moment to take a quick picture.
That almost looks like stock compared to mine, I have 20%, because I'm older I think the cops leave me alone. I had it on both my MK7s and the wife's Jetta with no problems from the police and have driven on 2 cross country vacation trips. One to Florida and one to Vancouver BC.

And my pickup as well.

If that car had a GTD grill I would say it was my old one that I turned in for more than I paid for it. :)

Anyone need a Flashzilla? Since I no longer have a TDI I don't need it. It was only used twice once to load the tune and again to remove when I turned my car in.

someone will buy it, they hold their value pretty good, i'd say $150 shipped should disappear within a week.

I installed the AirLift 80753 air bags on my rear springs today. Contrary to lots of other people's experience, getting the bags into the springs wasn't too difficult - less than half an hour for both of them.

Just squeeze all the air out, fold it best you can lengthwise (so it's like a hot-dog bun), then cram it through one of the lower spring gaps. First half doesn't take much effort - just guide/pull the top a bit as your push from below; then once it gets stuck, start twisting it so that it screws itself up/in. Use a piece of wood to pop in the last bottom corner(s).

Valve down, fed the air line out through the bottom of the spring perch, across the rear beam, under the protective covers of the tanks and spare tire well, put the T just before I got to the bottom of the bumper cover, then put the schrader valve coming out the RH side of the little cut-out in the bottom trim piece.

i ran the hose down as well.

I kinda wished i tried longer at the deflate squeeze method but i gave up and dropped swing arms.

I do have a small squeak going over bumps that has developed with about 10-12psi in the bags.

First "long distance" 2h I did with the airlift bag installed in h&r spring.

Really happy, everything is now level. Ride is also dramatically improved, no more bouncing.
