I have a 2001 Jetta TDI with auto trans

My cruise control just stopped working.

I got the new brake switch and vag-com confirms that it works.
All my lights are working
No CEL
Speedometer is working.
Vag-com (16 Steering Wheel) confirms that all the cruise control buttons work on my steering wheel.
Vag-com 01-Engine, 006 block shows the brake switch working and the cruise buttons not working.
I tried activating the cruise - but I don't know how to check and see if it is activated.
I visually checked every fuse I could find.
I re-seated all wires coming from the steering wheel to a black plastic box under my dash.

It seems that acording to most of the cc issues the button that switches the cc on on the flicker stalk is usualy the culpret. They tend to get dusty and stop working, remove the button carefuly and spray some switch cleaner inthere while working the switch inside. Block 006 will confirm if the switch is working as it will change between a 0 and 1 when you play with the switch.
Good luck
