Default Wiper inserts?

It's that time again, need new wiper blades and the aftermarket options have never impressed me, plus the OEM ones I have on my MK7 are amazing, probably some of the best out there in my opinion, but the problem is they are expensive! At my cost, a front set would run around 55 bucks... it's about 15 to 20 more over the better aftermarket ones out there but I find it puzzling VW hasn't decided to make the move and just sell inserts... Honda (and others) have been doing it for years and they're rubber runs around 10 bucks a piece at the dealer

Has anyone ever got their hands on just the inserts? I would gladly buy the Honda ones if the length is the same, but based on my toying around with the ones on my car, they won't match even if the length is the same due to the slightly different shape where the metal holds the rubber

Yea I've been buying more from them lately given the prices... Either way, would still be curious to know if anyone has managed to get their hands on wiper inserts

There are usually 3 different widths of wiper inserts. Measure the one you have and figure out what category it fall into. Canadian tire might still sell them so you could just take one of the inserts and compare to what they have in stock.

Yea that's what I plan on doing with the old OEM ones when I get the Trico blades. I work at Honda so maybe their inserts will fit, although I highly doubt it but hey worth a try
