2002 VW Golf TDI
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I have 2002 VW Golf TDI, European spec, if that makes a difference. I have just over 200,000k or about 130,000 miles.

In the winter time it have a harder time starting it for the first start of the day Sometimes I have to give it a little bit of gas and there is usually quite a bit of smoke coming from the exhaust. After the first start is is usually fine. Was thinking maybe a fuel filter would help or possibly new glow plugs?

Also, when I leave my lights on the chime does not work anymore. There are pretty much no more chimes, to include the icing warning chime. I dont think it is the door switch. When I first got the car the chime sounded like it was dying. Is there a box or fuse that controls this? Thanks, and other than these small issues its a great car.

I have the same problem with the chime. There is no more chime when low on fuel lights comes on, low windshield fluid, etc. Anyone has an idea where to look to fix it?
