Hi:
Started the bilstein Tc, 2" lift kit install this afternoon.
First hurdle: The KYB (will never buy another KYB product again) struts that I had in the front have a slotted strut top, not the allen/hex has in most other brands. I had the deep offset 21mm tool from Hazet, that I picked up on my way home from NYC today@ Zelanda Tool -Forest Hills
It was difficult holding back on the slotted top and loosening top end of strut. The spreader tool came in handy on the bottom end. Still an PITA

Hurdle 2: getting the second inside nut to break(loosen) the one on top of the bearing.
Finally figured out the correct installation of the lift kit. Bearing below the inside nut, messed up first time.
Had trouble getting the strut to fully drop back into seat on bottom of stut, maybe when with the jack stand or off it will fully seat.
Hurdle 3: /images/graemlins/confused.gif grrr..I need a 22mm deep offset wrench(for the bilsteins), or a 22mm pass through ratched, my set only goes up to 19mm.

To be continued....
Anyone know if these part numbers are the same?
Strut mount that was on golf 99.5 auto: OEM 1JO 412 331C
Strut mount and bearing kit I brought: 1JO 498 331(meistersatz)?
It seems like the 1JO 498 331 was deeper and a little bigger?
Thanks for the look up
Alan
