MK4 Spoiler Brake Light Question

I found a new-old-stock spoiler kit on eBay that I plan to add to my TDI as part of the GLI-ification of my Jetta. I know not all GLI's came with a spoiler, but what I was wondering was, did GLI's or Wolfsburg models that shipped with a spoiler also have the normal 3rd brake light on the deck lid? Or, did they come with a deck lid without a 3rd brake light? I have tried Googling photos of GLI's and Wolfsburgs, but the reflections in the glass have made it hard to answer this question on my own.

I ended up answering my own question. I finally received the spoiler from eBay and in the kit was a set of installation instructions and a template for drilling the screw holes. On the first page of the instructions it says:

D.O.T. requires that there only be (1) 3rd brake light. The FACTORY 3rd brake light will have to be disabled.

Later in the instructions, it shows how to disconnect the factory brake light and there's even an extra zip tie in the kit for anchoring it in place.
