PPD and PD Activation.

I was wondering if the 170 horse power PPD engines used the same rocker arms and set up, as the regular 140 horsepower BKD PD engines used. Hopefully some of our European experts would know. Thank you Stephen

Yes, we dropped BKD injectors and wiring harness in a 170 BMN engine without issues.

I'm not where I can check, but the 170hp version if I recall is a 4 valve central injector with piezo actuation.

The 140hp, is a 2 valve solenoid motor with an offset injector, and nothing in the head is interchangeable.

I'll look it up later and get back.

BKD is 16v.

The 140 8v you are thinking of is the BMM. 8v Head on a 2.0 Bottom End, similar to the BHW.

I appreciate the information. I am going to see my cousin in Bath this summer. I was going to look for the 170 head. I believe they were made after some of the crack prone BKD heads got redesigned. Thank you again. Stephen

Very few BMN had porus head but some early ones did.
