pdq import repair

In retrospect after my fight with the evil heater tubes, I figured the next one I did I would first clean the pipes very well on the end with steel wool to remove all debris. Then install the new rubber seals and get the tubes lined up in the core, then tighten the bolt that holds the tubes in the firewall. All instructions I found said to do this last, as I did. The most trouble I had was being able to push the connection together enough to put on the clamps. I got to thinking if the tubes were fastened into place, a person might be able to exert a little force on the core to push the tubes in. When both side are floating it is hard, I do remember the frustration.
