Just had my first tank of 700+ miles (1,169km). I still had 5.5 liters in the tank according to the "official" 70 liters tank. Probably had a bit more since I always fill to the top of the filler neck. Filled up in Laredo, Tx and drove to just south of Guadalajara which included some mountains along the route.
But since I've had the DSG tune I could see the tranny downshifting to 5th on a not steep uphill or downhill. I switched to manual and kept the tranny in 6th gear instead which kept the Rpm's lower thus using less fuel.
Of course before that I never knew what gear was being used.
