Who has had their intake manifold replaced along with the HPFP?
Still rocking the parts that came with my car from the factory

Now now, don't beat the guy up for looking for trying to solve the age old problem (one that very few actually experience).
I for one hope that someone can get to the bottom of the failures. The failures are from what I can tell caused by a few different issues that may combine to cause the failure:
-Filtration, read this that I brought up not too long ago.
-possable rust on the two metal rods in the fuel tank that hold the fuel pump. This rust can clog the prefilter in the fuel tank starving the rest of the system causing the hpfp to run dry and at which point break.
-Lubrication, no one seems to argue this point.

Me too. Apparently this poll is only for those unlucky few who have had HPFP failures. There are no options that do not include replacement of the HPFP.
Perhaps the thread title should have included "read ONLY if your HPFP has been replaced", because it does not apply to most of us. I wonder if he will get enough responses to be meaningful (we can hope).

Have Fun!

bumping an old thread here...

I had the HPFP fail last year. Pretty much everything from the tank to the injectors was replaced, except the intake manifold.

Last week the flap motor failed and the entire manifold had to be replaced ($900 out of pocket cost). I believe the flap failure is related to the HPFP failure, and just wanted to see if anyone had it replaced after an HPFP failure.

If you had your manifold replaced, please let me know as I would like to bring it up to VW to hopefully cover some of the replacement cost.

Thanks!
