power steering making steering too easy

My power steering pump is not making a noise but it is really easy to turn. My dad has an 03 1.8t wagon (i have an 01 tdi jetta) and his is stiffer.

Would an overly easy steering be a hint that my pump is going south or 'is it just like that'?

BTW it didnt feel like that before......is it because i've put on some snow tires?

I'd say it'd the tire change

A failing pump would make it harder to steer, not easier! - hello?
