New guy with 2015 NMS air intake questions.
Hey all. Thanks for the add. Just scooped up a 2015 Passat SE about a month ago and like all my other cars I put a K&N drop in filter in and then went looking for other ways to increase power. After landing here and learning the error of my ways. I have the intake apart and just dried the MAF and housing (MAF sensor doesn't come out of the 2015 Passat TDI housing) after soaking in some denatured alcohol for a bit, and now I am ready to put it back together.
So now my question is this. There's a weird plastic panel on the bottom part of my airbox that is not attached to anything. It basically just sits there and the bottom of the stock filter sandwiches it into place. Does that panel need to be there? I've never seen anything like it.
