Throttle Actuator Issue

Good Evening, My wife called to let me know that her glow plug light on her '12 Golf TDI w/DSG was flashing and her check engine light was on. When I came home, I plugged my OBD II adapter in and ran a scan using IPhone's Dash Command. The fault that was returned was:
P2101 - Throttle Accuator A Control Motor Circuit Range/ Performance

I was hoping this code has been seen and corrected by other members of the forum. The Glow Plug light is intermittent and only comes on occasionally, but tonight was the first time the CEL came on. Any assistance/ info would be greatly appreciated.

I have had the fault now 3 times. However I have not had it in about 3
weeks. Two faults came right after start, when I turned the key straight
to crank with out waiting. It's always good to wait a slow two count and
let the glow plug and other lights go out before cranking. I found after I
shut down and restart the flashing glow plug light always resets, goes out.

However the first time I got the flashing glow plug light I got the 2101
code with the other code I mention in thread. The first time I was driving
and interrupted a Regen getting off the highway. It always resets after
shut down.

My research I found these units can fail for various reasons. They are fairly
reliable. I think mine may be having issues due to low battery voltage during
start. Could be the unit needs to be removed, inspected and cleaned. Inside
are some electronics, stepper motor and a nylon gear drive. If I get another
fault I will buy a new valve and swap them out to see if that fixes it.

I appreciate the reply. I had to drop my wife's baby off at the dealer because it used almost 1/4 tank of fuel in 30 miles. The dealer called this morning and they are replacing the battery due to undervoltage. Not sure if the two are related but we'll see.
