Koni Struts/Shocks Quality

I put this in another discussion in TDI101 but would like a response/opinion etc.
Has anyone ever tried or heard of how Koni shocks measure up to KYB or Bilstein on a type III Golf/Jetta?
I am ready to purchase some Bilsteins from Danix and wanted to know about duty/taxes etc. for bringing auto parts into Canada.
