Default "New" 2016 TDi's available?

Has anyone heard an expected sale date for the remaining new-old-stock 2016 Q5 TDI's sitting in storage across the country (Canada)? I might be ready to put a deposit down on one assuming the price is right. Last call to the dealer a month or so back yielded zero useful info.
What's the buzz?

It could be 2018 before you have a chance at them. VWAG has to submit a fix to CARB and get it approved. Should that happen, the unsold stock will come to market much as the 2.0 stock is doing now. If they can't get a fix approved, that would also cause a ripple as another 60 thousand or so 3.0 TDI's would then qualify for a buyback.

I thought I just read somewhere this week that the fix was approved for the 3.0l TDI's in the U.S. Am I wrong on this?
If so, I'd assume we'll see the same green light here in Canada. Question is, how long before Audi will have them ready for sale.

The 3.0 fix is not approved yet. VWAG has to get it approved for three subclasses of vehicles. They can take up to December or even longer depending on whether they file for time extensions.

Yep. I inquired about a beautiful 2016 Touareg TDI locally and was told the same.

The 13-14's actually only have till oct unless they file extensions, which they will almost certainly do.

I just bought a new 2016 Audi Q5 Premium Plus TDI 3.0 last week. My local dealership had 4 and there are now 2 remaining. I got the new car financing special and 4yr/50k factory warranty.

I let VW buy back my 2010 Touareg and used the proceeds to purchase a 2013 Q7 TDI in February of this year and love the car so far. Damn thing gets 28/29 on the highway and 25 combined. Super comfortable to drive and has all the bells and whistles.
