I have an '85 VW golf diesel that needs the right rear hard brake line replaced. I messed up the line installing a new muffler on it earlier this year. Is there anyone in the area that knows how to fix (replace)the brake line? Thanks for any help...

I had an 88 Camry All-Trac that constantly had rusted out lines. Until I was able to replace a good chunk of it, I cut a sample of it using a pipe cutter and went to the auto parts store, got a compression union and a length of steel line and spliced it in.

Hope this helps.

I've heard of that also... From what I've heard, the tool that creates the flare's at the end of the tube are pretty expensive... Although, replacing just that piece would be so much easier. Maybe I should look into buying the tool needed...
