FS - Bosal hitch for Beetle
FS - Bosal hitch for Beetle, part # 024303. I bought the hitch from IDParts about 3.5 years ago when they were having one of their $399 sales versus the regular $449 price. I made a quick purchase because I thought this was a one-time deal but turns out this is a frequent promotion. This is a great hitch and is completely invisible when the swan-neck ball is not installed. I installed this hitch on one of my 2006 Beetles--unfortunately I’ve never used it--the ball still looks new. I didn’t do my research--I assumed I would be able to find a way to attach a hitch bicycle carrier--my primary need for a hitch-- but have had no joy.
I’m looking for offers starting at $250 plus $40 shipping. If you are in Central FL, the shipping may not be necessary.
The hitch is currently installed—don’t want to go to the trouble of removing if there are no reasonable offers. It will take me 2-3 days to get it ready to ship. For anyone interested, the installation requires removal of the rear inner fender liners and the rear bumper cover. Also, a small rectangular hole must be cut in the bottom of the cover for the swan-neck ball to attach. It is relatively easy but there are lots of screws.
