I don't know if this thread will help anyone. But my phone can only call out in my new 2010 Jetta Sedan.

If you want to contribute to this thread please post the following information.

Vehicle:
Cell Phone Provider:
Cell Phone make and model:
Does it work 100%:
What doesn't work:
Did you have do anything to get a feature to work:

I'll start...
Phone #1
Vehicle: Jetta Sedan
Cell Phone Provider: Virgin
Cell Phone make and model: LG Flare
Does it work 100%: No
What doesn't work: Can't answer incoming calls. :(
Did you have do anything to get a feature to work: I found a way to answer the incoming call. I have to open the phone. But I still can't do it from the steering wheel :(

Phone #2
Vehicle: Jetta Sedan
Cell Phone Provider: Verizon
Cell Phone make and model: Motorola W766 Entice
Does it work 100%: Yes and No
What doesn't work: Sometimes I can not access contacts :(

None any more. My heart couldn't take it.
OK, I'll play.

Vehicle: 2010 JSW with 9w3 upgrade
Cell Phone Provider: t-mobile
Cell Phone make and model: HTC MyTouch
Does it work 100%: Probably
What doesn't work: Call log only pertains to session, that is the phone's call log doesn't seem to synch, but the unit remembers calls made/received/missed while connected to bluetooth and forgets them as soon as connection is lost. I'm not sure if this is what is supposed to happen, so I'll say it works.

Cell Phone Provider: Verizon
Cell Phone make and model: Lg env
Does it work 100%: Yes
What doesn't work: Phonebook unconfirmed (9W2)
Did you have do anything to get a feature to work: my phone book would
never sync. Screen always said "initializing phone". I could make calls if I dialed from the phone and could answer calls even though I always had the message...until... The other day I hit the "phone" button by accident and now my phone book is sync'd and every thing seems to function correctly. Nothing I found in the manual about this either.

What doesn't work: From time to time it drops connection with the car (or vice versa) and requires me shut off the phone's BT for the phone to reconnect. I'm not sure if its my phone or the car.

* Carrier is somewhat irrelevant in that I'm not running stock device software on either phone. BB 9700 is running some other RIM release. G1 is running Android 2.1-based Cyanogenmod. But for the majority of users I guess its reasonable to assume that they are running software delivered / tweaked /and/or blessed by their carrier.

Been relatively lucky so far.

I listed the car twice. It is the same car, but I have upgraded phones. The Bluetooth module is the 1Z0-035-729-D module which is the 9W3 module which could be the same as yours. Maybe this makes a difference on how the phone interacts with it?

Calls come and go just fine. But when paired with the car I get no notification of incoming text messages. I have checked the phone settings for any possible settings to fix. Suggestions?

Previously had the first droid and the phone had no problem however bluetooth had to be reset to stream music. Droid X has been flawless with the phone and streaming. Can't wait for the 9w7 module I ordered to show up

Cell Phone Provider: T-Mobile

Cell Phone make and model: Nokia Nuron

Does it work 100%: Yes, within the limits of the car's bluetooth functionality. I can receive and end calls from the steering wheel, I can use the car as a speaker phone for both calls originated on the phone and for received calls and I can play MP3 files from the phone on the car's stereo via wireless stereo bluetooth.

What doesn't work: Access to the phone's contact list or the phone screen on the car's multi-funtion display (this is a limitation of the car's bluetooth, not the phone)

Did you have do anything to get a feature to work: Just had to sync it up the first time

What doesn't work: MFI phonebook/incoming/outgoing but I think that's fixable with Vag-Com/VCDS

Did you have do anything to get a feature to work: Pair it.

* Side note, the original BT that was installed in the car would work somewhat but not very consistently. After some playing and arguing with the dealer they agreed that the unit was faulty and replaced. Now working fine. *

Did you have do anything to get a feature to work: - I use the BT Audio to listen to MLB.TV audio streams that don't pass thru the MDI using MLB At Bat app.

Update: upgraded to 9w7 - I now can choose MDI or BT Audio for most of listening from iPhone 4 (iOS 4.1 8B117)

I decided to respond with the quote above because I have the same phone.

Vehicle:2010 Golf TDI: with 9W2 and RNS-510 Navigation
Cell Phone Provider: Verizon
Cell Phone make and model: Droid X
Does it work 90%: Yes
What doesn't work: Does not ring through the speakers

I have unpaired/repaired several times with no success. The only way I know I get a call is I hear the ring through the phone speaker or the music stops playing through the speakers. Music streams fine and the callers voice comes through the speakers fine as well.

I pair the phone with another device. The phone rings through the device speaker. So, it appears to be in the car. I don't know if it is in the RNS-510 or 9W2. I also hooked up my VAGCOM and found no faults or find a setting for this in the module.

I thought about getting the 9W7, but I probably should have the stealership look at it for a possible warranty service. Maybe my 9W2 is bad, and I can get them to replace with a 9W7.
