Hi all

I have pulled the head and was thinking about checking the rings and pistons for wear.

Bently says the connecting rod bolts are stretch type but no torque spec given for the AHU engine only spec. is for other engine types.

Also I have not been able to find anybody that sells them.
so Im hoping they are not stretch type.

Anybody know ?

Thanks
mindy.

I'm not going to say anything about proper terminology for those or any bolts. "Proper" isn't always the commonly used terminology.

still looking...
My guess is that they are stretch/yield bolts. All factory connecting rod bolts that I've dealt with have been of this type (mostly bmw).

-Connecting rod bolts: 22 + 1/4 turn (oiled threads and contact surfaces)
from here

Yes they are stretch bolts. don't have a p/n. somebody with ETKA??? I've bought 'em before but who is going to memorize a nine digit number for a bolt?

Rob, does that mean that whenever "oiled threads" are NOT specified the torque settings are "dry" ???

(One of my eternal questions... I'm still looking for the definitive reference for this...)

Yuri.
