TDI BRM EGR Delete Complete. Questions

So everything is in place, except the barb fitting.

I have not removed the cooler though it is completely blocked off.

What is the point of this barb fitting?

Must I remove the cooler or is it just like carrying around dead weight where it doesn't matter much.

BTW the barb fitting is an elbow.

No need to remove cooler or put in elbow. Only reason I would think of is that you can then move the cooling lines so that oil that drips from the turbo does not hit them.

Is it required I put the barb fitting on if egr cooler is still there but not being used. I've done quit working and got everything back together because weather.
