Patience. Their faq says shortly after the settlement is approved, so soon. Shouldn't matter when you turned your car in. And hopefully not nearly the red tape involved with the VW payments.

Shouldn't be any red tape at all. Your VW claim is approved, you automatically get a check from Bosch. The only case where there should be any paperwork involved at all would be if you didn't file a VW claim, but still wanted the Bosch money.

While pleased to be receiving an additional 350 USD from this matter, I can't grasp the 1150 USD disparity between the 2 and 3 liter vehicles. I mean, software is software. Is it not the same for all of these affected vehicles? Seems it should be the same across the board, but what the hell do I know? :)

From reading the transcript of last week's hearing, the dollar amounts were decided by the FTC. One stated reason for the disparity was that VW just wasn't paying quite enough to make the owners of 3-liter TDIs whole, but the extra money from Bosch did the job. Kind of tenuous, I thought, but that's what they seemed to be saying.

A settlement is a settlement, and, fair or not, they are what they are.

Who can possibly reconcile these two examples except by reference to the statement above:

How much money did the families of those killed in the World Trade Center on 9
/11 receive?

vs.

How much money did the victims / families receive in the aftermath of the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City six years earlier?

Answers:

The short answer to the WTC compensation: 7 Billion paid to 97% of the families, average $1.8 million payout.

vs.

The short answer to the Oklahoma City compensation: 40 million, of which 18 million was never paid out, set aside for scholarships of surviving children. So— $22 million distributed among survivors / victims' families, and there were 168 killed.
