Going to 5-speed swap my 2000 Golf, but have not yet done the work. All A/T related parts will be up for grabs.
Car is currently 100% put together, running and driving. 159k miles.
Transmission is in good condition overall, not perfect.
I've been driving 250 miles each way to school, weekly for 4 months now. At the 3.5 hr mark, the trans gets a bit warm and gets funky, but is operational. I've never driven it more than ~3.5 hrs.
Yes, I know the 01Ms are junk, but I can either toss it to the scrapper, or I can find someone who wants a cheap rebuild core or a temp replacement.
I'll put it this way: If my only car needed a transmission replacement, and I didn't have any other options, I would not have a problem swapping this unit in.
Here's the deal:
If you're expecting to get the lot for free, then it will be a "whenever I get to it" situation. My schedule is loose and unplanned. Also weather dependent.
If you want to bid a couple hundred $, then I'll have some motivation to move it up on the list of priorities.
Parts included: transmission, axles, starter, torque converter, flexplate/flywheel, shifter assembly, transmission cooler, associated hardware.
Like I said, still runs and drives, and you can come test drive it and hammer out a deal with me then if you want.
If my ad needs a price, I will start at $250. Last time I took a transmission to the scrapper they billed it as aluminum and gave me $70
So there's that, and the axles and starter are in great condition.
