Got an email today that I have until 9/18/16 to opt in on the vw class action suit. Any point?

I believe every owner is already opted in. You actually have to opt out if you want to be excluded

Irrelevant. You are in the class unless you opt out. Likely a law firm that was not going to benefit at the trough, and wanted to drum up some cash, or simply a scam.

If you qualify as a Seller in this whole mess, you've got to submit for a claim. Otherwise, I'm also thinking scam.
