I'm letting my 2008 Audi A4 2.0 TDI 170 PS Quattro go this summer for an A6 C7 with an 3.0 TDi. They are so nice cars and have some more room for family. Only thing in Norway is that almost all the cars you can find are 204 and not the 245 version. I have seen a lot of speculations on the subject about the differences in the engines. But could somebody that knows maybe tell me?
Found some info that the turbo could be an gtb2060 instead of the 2260, but mostly interested in the fueling and maybe torque limits of the DSG box.
Would be nice to know when thinking about tuning later...

Thanks!

204hp has the BorgWarner bv50 turbo which is not the best option for any kind of tuning.

240hp version has Garrett GTB2260VK turbo which is better choice.

Both in common have some issues with the double layer sheet metal exhaust manifolds which inner layer gets loose and damages the turbine wheel/VNT mechanics.....

mine had the 2056 turbo originally.

original injectors will get to 370hp with high EGT

DSG will start to slip from 700nm

I upgraded the clutches and 885nm holds now for 10.000 km without a problem

both use gtbxxxxvzk turbos, the 204 hp uses gtb2056vzk and the 245 hp uses gtb2260vzk. both use a R70 cp4.2, which limits you to about 750 Nm of toruqe. the biturbo R80 cp4.2 is pnp and maxes out around 850-870 Nm.

If you can find a 204hp in better condition and with more options than a 245 hp I would not desistate and get the 204. the turbo is interchangeable in case you would be happy with around 320 hp.

Does the 204 hp version come with Quattro and tiptronic these days?

Where did you buy the clutch, and how did you do it with the install?

Some have Stronic 7 speed (dsg) and some have the tiptronic
it's not clear to me which has what gearbox

A friend has the 245hp with 7spd DSG , another with 8 spd tiptronic

This is what I was hoping for, that they have the same DSG with the same torque limit at aroud 700nm. And the same engine with different turbo. Then I will find the right s-line 204. Have asked darkside about a drop in gtb2260vklr, and about 320hp is perfect:)

I think the new tiptronic is better than DSG, more robust for sure.
Remap of the dsg 500 is little over 1000 euro at TVS and they are supposed to be the best in this area..maybe i am wrong. They guarantee 800nm with remap, 1000Nm with race clutch which is expensive.

They didn't impress me...

Why is the tiptronic better or stronger?

You are right, in C7 model they both are Garrett. Sorry for my mistake!

The tiptronic on the biturbo can take much abuse but after 900nm its not that nice, but im sure it will improve after the remap.

Raffshore ..you have the same gearbox i have on my leon (small differences DQ500 vs DL501)
Explain to me even in PM if you have the time and will what was wrong with tvs software. you have 900+nm , i will only have close to 700nm
Audi DQ500 Spec-S Clutch System 600ft/lbs.

The tvs software slipped at 750 Nm, that was the main thing that was wrong.. only 16 bar clutch pressure.

with ssp not needed. I think its rather uptimistic from your side that you can slip stock clutches easily, assuming that they are same as dl501, with a 2.0 =)

I can go over 16 bar clamping yes. tvs not

Does this also apply to the Touareg facelift from 2015 onwards? Mine has the engine code CVWA and the 262hp has CVVA and I was wondering if I can fit the turbo from the 262 engine to my 204 engine.

Does it have turbo with vband turbine inlets? Iirc these engines do use same turbo no matter the power version (gtd2060)

I have no idea about the inlets, sorry. If they use the same turbo what’s the difference between the engines? And how much cans software remap do to it?
