I want to be the first on the block to get one. ;-)

I know this new 100hp TDI is supposed to put out less NOx. What about other values... like PMs (Particulate Matter aka Soot)?

IMHO I think sometime after 2000 VW made an unadvertised change to the TDI ECM firmware that boosted the horsepower to 100 already. I haven't dyno'ed my Upsoluted car yet, but with Gtech Pro I have measured my peak hp at the wheels at 117-119; this implies 125 at the flywheel which in turn implies the car stock was 100 at the flywheel as Upsolute claims a boost in hp of about 25.

The official touch down date for the 100HP is set for 12 months from now and to be introduced as a MY2004.

We have dyno-ed 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 TDI in stock form. They all tested exactly the same: 85whp which equates to the stated 90HP.

I already have the 90hp version, but I want to upgrade to more power/fewer emissions.

2004 models are released in August 2003. You should be able to order a 2004 at that time.

Our current TDI's already make 100hp and 177ftlbs at the flywheel. Stock TDI's are dynoing 90hp/155ftlbs at the wheels.

Only way this motor is different is if VW is saying it's 100 wheel HP, which would be about 112-115hp at the crank. Very similar in power to the previous European versions. Hmmm....

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">85whp would be 97hp with a 12% drivetrain loss.
