Jetta windows go down every time I open driver side door

This started happening randomly a few months ago with my 2006 Jetta. Not sure what to expect if I try to fix it/get a mechanic to fix it. Every time I open the driver side door from inside or outside, all four windows go down. Sometimes they go all the way down, sometime only partially. Anyone had this problem?

I bet you're dealing with a failed drivers door harness. I'm about to do one myself for a family member on their '06. The factory harness was too short and after a while wires start to break and crazy weird things happen. Run a VCDS autoscan and I'll bet you find several faults relating to the door module. Pull the harness boot in your drivers door jamb and you may visualy see the problems. You can try repairing but I always just replace the harness. About $120 for the part.
