• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

SOLD

I have a set of replica OEM HID Jetta headlights.

These are the headlights with the OEM ballast mounted underneath and igniters are in the back covers.

I had these sitting in the box for the last 7 years. I just got around to finishing up the project and wiring in the leveling motors.

Right now they are sitting on my work bench as I just silicon-ed in Glass Lenses.

The leveling motors are wired so they can be manually adjusted if you have the rheostat that controls them.

All of the bulbs are brand new and not cheap ebay bulbs. New hella H& high beams, Brand new Phillips DS2 low beam HID's.

Also, they come with the wiring adapters to make them plug and play (10 to 12 wire harness). The only exception to plug and play is the one wire to trigger / control the leveling motors which is in the harness but you would have to hook that up yourself. These wiring harnesses are going for $99 on ebay by themselves.

Everything is as close to mint as you will ever find and everything works great.

I am not sure if these are the direction I want to go with this car and I am considering selling them.

My only problem is I am not sure what these are worth. I am not going to give them away for a ridiculously low price.

I would like everyone to chime in and let me know what they think these are worth and should sell for before I decide if I am going to sell them or not.

Please let me know.

Don't mind the clear tape, like I said I just used silicone to install glass lenses and they haven't cured yet. The clear tape is just holding the lenses steady while the silicone cures. I also haven't had the chance to wipe them down or clean them up. I will do this tomorrow once the silicone cures totally.

Very nice! These would look nice replacing my OEM faded lense headlights currently on my 04 Jetta. Being a plug n play install makes them even more tempting! Interested and will keep an eye for a price.

Good job they came out nice. Would you be able to share where you found the parts? I have a set of oem hellas, i already removed the plastic lenses. I got in touch with vxtuning to see if they sell parts to build lights like the ones they make but they refused to sell me any parts.

Btw, i think an asking price starting at 200-250 for your set is super fair. They may be worth a little more tho im not sure

I did not "build" these. I actually bought them brand new. The only thing I did was install the leveling motors and put glass lenses on. It was over six years ago so I do not remember where I sourced the leveling motors. The wiring for the leveling motors was already inside the headlight housing.

Man, you should not have glued the lenses on with silicone. The butyl rubber they were built with is fine( and most importantly serviceable with some heat ).
cheers,
Douglas

I said "silicone" but I used whatever came with the lenses in the package. Probably is butyl.

For comparison

https://www.midwestlight.biz/untitled?page=2

Page listing products from a longtime vendor/member here, which you could use as a basis of comparison. I don't think he monitors his forum fs thread any more.
Then, per forum rules you should price for sale if selling- whatever You think/want.

Hope this helps!

One more bit, the set you show has a separate projector and high beam. You will want the projector to stay lit, and just move its shutter when the high beams are engaged. There are a couple ways to do that, but you will wish to make sure it happens.
cheers,
Douglas

and further, the Volx offering runs the very fine FX-R projectors. They are difficult to mount because of their size, but given their beam pattern, it is worth doing. Note the size of the projectors; not even up to the Mini H1( which is a decent projector in and of itself, especially the 7.0, and if available yet the 8.0).

I just got back from vacation so I apologize for taking so long.
These headlights are not retrofits, they are replicas of the OEM European H.I.D. projector headlights.
They have the factory H.I.D. ballast and igniters built into the housings (see pics)
They have the phillips DS2 bulbs for low beam, Hella H7 65w off road bulbs for high beams. All of the bulbs are brand new and have less than 10 minutes run time on them.
These also have the Leveling Motors. If you have installed the rheostat dimmer switch in your car, you can adjust the height of the headlight beam from the drivers seat by just turning a knob.
These also include the 10 pin to 12 pin adapter wiring harness to make these a plug and play setup. If you look in the pictures there is one black wire (24" long) coming out of each harness. this wire would connect to the leveling motor rheostat wire if you have it installed.
I found the original receipt and I purchased these from ECS tuning back on December 3, 2014. They just sat on the shelf in the box until I moved to Minnesota and finally had some time off to get around to installing the leveling motors and glass lenses.
I have spent a lot of time looking to find these exact headlights for sale but everything I have found that looks similar is a halogen reproduction with aftermarket HID bulbs installed. Even then they are going for $549.99 + shipping.
I received several emails telling me that when these were available they were going for $900 and up. I don't know if anyone could even find these for sale anymore.
I am asking $700 + actual shipping.
If you have any questions please let me know.

I have had 2 questions asked so I thought I would share them:

1. what brand are they?

The box says "Depot" as the brand

2. What condition is the wiring in?

The internal wiring is as close to new as possible. these have only been powered up for 10 minutes or less. this was just to check everything is 100% functional. There are 2 wires internally that have been cut and reconnected in a different configuration to allow the leveling motors to function in a stand alone setting for cars that didn't come with the automatic leveling headlights. This would be easily reversible if you car came factory with auto leveling headlights. I don't believe that any North American cars came with the Automatic leveling headlights, just European models.
