Can someone tell me when the current engine, 2.0L TDI, began production? Was it in 2010?

Thanks for the help.

We took delivery of our 2009 JSW in October of 2008. I remember that the car showed signs of getting a little beat up by Hurricane Ike on it's Journey through the Gulf of Mexico. Now that I think about it that car had a random unexplained rust bubble that had to be repaired under warranty.

There are just too many to list....

2010 model year, actually. CJAA (Golf-Jetta-Beetle). The 2009 was the CBEA. Mostly the same, but it technically is a different engine code and is not what is in the newer cars.

The NMS Passat has a [more] different engine yet, the CKRA. The CJAA (and maybe the CKRA?) will be phased out in the upcoming year in favor of the new engine family.

So the CJAA engine will be a 2010-2014 run.

All I know is we never had any diesels in Canada in 2007 and 2008 but even then our 2006 was a 2005 at least in the Golf, but I'm no Technorati.

Just as well the CBEA had only one year although some seem to run forever

Yeah, 2010 was the first year for the "current" engine (CJAA), but 2009 was the first year for the 2.0L CR TDI (CBEA).
One odd fact is that the Jetta and Golf switched to the CJAA engine in 2010 but the 2010 Audi A3 still used the CBEA. I do not know for sure which engine is in 2011+ Audi A3s.

Have Fun!

Perfect! So I can buy a Bentley manual from '10 for my '14 TDI. I just care about the engine. This is great!!

Thanks!
