Weak battery

Car starts up fine but the radio will only come on after Ì drive 5 miles or more after sitting overnight. If I stop to fuel up after a mile or 2 the radio comes back on could this be caused by a weak battery

Probably not.

Diagnosing a battery issue without getting voltage readings is not really possible. Kinda like asking what's wrong with my car by stating it makes funny noises and lights are on.

In experiences with other brands of cars. The radio is usually one of the last things to keep working. With a battery weak enough to cause radio issues I would think the car would be hard to get started.

If you are keeping the car, start looking for an aftermarket radio now.

not a battery issue

Thanks to all Im going to go with it as is. Still plays music through my I phone to car speaker and I can still make hands free calls through it also so the bluetooth still works
