Oil is some pretty tough stuff. At the track, I don't start to concern myself until I hit about 295. And that's with Mobil 1.

Different engines, sure, but I wouldn't even bat an eye at oil temps below 250.

I am just looking a the Elf website for the 507 oil. It states operating temps of 40-100C. That would mean 232F would be the max. Naturally they do not state the breakdown temp of the oil. That would be nice to know.

Good to know that you have not had issues at much higher temps.

I have noticed that oil temp gauges I've been looking at lately all go up to 300F. The ones that are coloured tend to start with the red around 240-250, but I don't know if that's just because they are cheap "universal" temp gauges or if that's because that's the truly critical range.
