Retired last year and not driving this Jetta like I use to (<11k since 11/18)... It has been a North/South Carolina car since new (No RUST). I purchased it in Asheville NC in March 2014 from the 2nd owner (he purchased it with < 9k miles from a VW Dealer in Charlotte). Current mileage < 331,500. Previous owner put 1 1/4” hitch to pull a small trailer. Has light gray leather seats, moon roof and heated seats and mirrors. A/C works great. Monster floor mats.
It is a 4 door sedan and Manual tranny
Malone stage 2 with EGR delete
Maintenance completed:
Timing Belt, water pump, etc. and front suspension - 255,326 - March 2014
Rebuilt CV joints and installed new struts/shocks - 263,000 - Aug 2014
New Dual mass clutch - 279,900 - Aug 2015
New upper inter cooler pipe - April 2016
Rear brakes and glow plugs - May 2016
Ignition Cylinder replaced - Aug 2016
Mass Airflow - May 2017
Injection Pump seal kit and Solenoid shutoff - May 2017
Headliner and antenna replaced - Mar 2018
Replace glow plug wiring harness - Nov 2019
Driver’s side lock replaced - Mar 2020
Tires have about 40k miles on them. Box of New/used parts to go with the car.
The bad
Right rear passenger door doesn’t Lock/unlock electronically - must be UNLOCKED/LOCKED from the inside.
3 rust spots about the size of a nickel (2 on hood and 1 on roof near front windshield)
Paint isn’t the best
Driver’s seat back is worn and has a small whole
Front Passenger seat back and driver’s seat back seams are starting to come apart
I cheaped out on the driver’s door lock and sometimes it is a pain to open. Does lock/unlock electronically
