Fuel consumption

New to this forum. Just got 2011 TDI Highline. This would be my 4th VW. GTi,GTi,Jetta 2.0T and now Jetta TDi. anyways, my TDI fuel consumption is good. Somewhere around 7.2 - 7.5 L per 100k however I do not get anywhere near 6L/100 some of you get in this forum. I only get 4k on my car now. how long did it take your car to go down with diesel consumption ? i drive about 70 city / 30 highway.

Plain and simple dont drive in the city....Tdis dont like city driving all that much.... I got 5.0/100kms last tank and currently have 490kms at 1/4 tank gone and 4.5/100kms this tank

My Fiancee averages 6.0L/100km since she got the car new. She now has about 2,000 kms on the car so it's far from broken in.

I've seen her average between 5.8-6.2L/100km and it's sitting at 6.0 right now.

She does mostly highway driving, I'd say 80-85% highway.
