Blue4R - Re. the AC: I think I could have made it fit, but having never laid it out to really see, I don't actually know. I am sure glad I omitted it; that I know. I have lots of space around most of the engine and can see and access everything well.
Re. the motor mounts - the mount housings are thick custom, gusseted steel mounts that ultimately cost me nearly a grand, but they will never fail. The rubber is from a BMW 325i, which I regret using every time the truck sits idling. They vibrate too much. That mostly disappears at higher rpms, though. Use MBZ 300D oil-filled mounts or equivalent - $100 each but well worth it. I lacked the cash then.
I think I still like the G52. I did not switch to a V6 3rd member.
