Default DEF tank mounting bolt size.

Found this today,

https://imgur.com/6rUMhe7

I was hoping someone could tell me what bolt size goes there. My mechanic isn't answering, don't blame him, it's Saturday. It's the rear most, passenger side, mount on the tank.

Thanks!

Edit: Mechanic answered! yay!

Rear bolt is a M12-1.5, the 2 forward bolts are M8's

One of the reasons I keep a wide variety of old bolts and nuts on hand - never know what you might need for some oddball reason.

Just looking at it, I'd guess an M8; no idea of the length, though. Probably a washer or good-size shoulder on the head of the bolt, too. And (from what happened), probably a dab of blue loctite.

Looks like an M8x25.

The one on the other end (#3 in the diagram) is an M12x1.50 50mm - which is same spec as the big honkin' bolts that screw into the engine support bracket when doing a timing belt job.

So yeah - M8x25 seems like the more likely option.

my bad, it's M12-1.5 for the rear hole. That's the one I was missing.

The M8's are the 2 forward most bolts. I was missing the M12. Thanks for the picture.
