You can absolutely get a tune after the fix if you like.

2015 TDI GSW SEL and 2006 Golf TDI GLS
Just purchased an extremely clean very nice lease take back 2015 GSW TDI SEL. Adaptive Lighting and one other option. 26,000 miles, new wheels, tires (P7's) and complete brakes all around, plus fully serviced. I paid $24,500.

Had my choice of several GSW's (I think most were SEL's), plus a Jetta or two, a Passat or two and one Golf S.

Mike P at SeaCoast VW in NH was great. Tell him Scott sent you!! Mike got me the Carfax, every service ticket for the car, including a full breakdown of what was done to the car to prep it for sale, and all other paperwork I asked for with zero fuss. Awesome.

I would really like to know what others are paying for their cars. It helps all of us in our purchases, mainly helping to identify when we are getting a good deal and when we are getting ripped off.

Thanks

2- 15' Passats
Passat Prices

We recently sold both our 2012 and 13 Passats (with high miles) back and got enough to buy 2 new 15' Passat SEL's with almost no miles. We paid someone with a dealers license a few hundred to bid for us at auction. Here are some real world prices that these have been selling at a large nationwide auction house. Its likely you can find someone local to you who can help you get one of these. This is the most useful data that I know of for determining how good of deal you are getting. Condition is a 0-5 Scale.

From pricing I was seeing, no. The special financing and rebates were only applicable to new (never titled) 15s. The used fixed ones seemed to be listed at slightly higher price once you included the rebates.

I just picked up a beautiful black 2015 Golf TDI S 6MT lease return with 20,000 miles for $16,000 at David Maus VW North in Orlando. As my first VW and first Diesel, I have to say I'm very impressed with the car. It's had the first phase of the emissions fix done to it. I'm wondering if the extended warranty they sold me is worth it, since they already come with an extended emissions warranty from VW. (They neglected to mention that). Anyway, theirs is $2,000 and has no deductible for repairs as long as the dealership does the work. It's through MPP (Mechanical Protection Plan) and includes 3 years / 36,000 miles from the date of sale. This is their "Platinum" plan:
The plan covers everything EXCEPT: engine tune-up, suspension/wheel alignment, wheel balancing, filters, lubricants, engine coolant, fluids, air conditioning recharging, spark/glow plugs, brake pads, brake linings and shoes, and manual clutch disc lining, or any maintenance services and parts described in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule for your vehicle.

You guys think it's redundant, or worth the price?

I think that is a nice deal on the Golf! Personally I'd probably decline that warranty and take my chances that repairs will cost $2k or less. Plus, as you said you have an emissions warranty for some of the expensive stuff.

2015 SE Wagon - Red - Auto - 30k miles - $19,000
2015 S Wagon - Blue - Auto - 17k - $20,600

Passat:
2015 Passat SEL Prem - Silver - Auto - 44k miles - $22,600
2015 Passat SEL Prem - Silver - Auto - 38k miles - $22,800
2015 Passat SE w/ Sunroof - Gray - Auto - 33k miles - $19,500

Wagon>>>hatchback in my opinion. I've toyed with the idea of getting a golf to replace my JSW, every time I throw a moderate amount of stuff back there, it's hard to justify.

We no longer need a wagon.

We bought an outback. I'd rather have a smaller car

Right now I'm. Looking at se and SEL with 12-25k miles. Most are 18k or so.

Not worth it. Get your $ back, put into a savings account or conservative mutual fund in a Roth IRA and let it sit for any uncovered repair work.

Trying to decide between these two offers -

18,000 + 150 doc. Golf TDI SEL,+lighting pack 29.9K miles

16,920 +499 doc, Golf TDI SE + lighting pack 19.6K miles, certified.

580.00 isnt much to pay for Nav, sport seats, dual zone climate and keyless entry. +10K is about 6-8 months of wear and driving miles for me.

Tough call. The SE is 1.5 hrs away. The SEL is 5.5 away. Im likely going to buy one of these cars. My CU pre approved rate is 1.74 anyway, so the certified bonus rate does not really matter.

Does the certified model come with an additional warranty? That's probably what would sway me to the SE.

Or if I preferred one colour to the other.

Both nice options. I don't know what the SEL interiors look like in the Golf but I don't like the two tone interiors in the SEL wagons. To me the lighting package is whats most important and you have that. I don't much care for the factory Nav so I wouldn't pay for it. I'm surprised the SE doesn't have KESSY, but that is another take it or leave it option for me.

I think that I'd take the SE. Less money and lower miles. Then I'd think about swapping GTI seats into it later on. I LOVE the seats in my MK6 GTI.

Disclaimer: I don't own any MK7's. My opinions are formed based on MK6 models.

Both are silver.
The certified se comes with 2/24k something or other warranty but it's kind of unclear when it starts. I need to look further into it.
Technically, I could swap out the SEL seats from my wagon.
SEL adds kessy, piano black trim, push start, nav, dual zone climate, sport seats.
It's a tough call. Nav I don't care really about it. The seats though. I really do.
Kessy i can live without but I do like it.
The silver interior trim is kind of nice. Dual zone is kind of useless in a compact car.
Still its only a few hundred dollars more.

I went for it. Found a white Jetta TDI (6M) with cornsilk interior in a 2015 SEL over in Reno. About 26k on the odometer and $18,200 on my offer sheet. All tolled, it was basically a straight swap for my 2012 Jetta TDI (6m) including tax and title here in Washington (which is outlandish). I'm quite happy with the vehicle and had a nice drive back to Seattle.

Now I need some DEF:)

Buy the SEL. Features last for the life of the vehicle and there's nothing like a little added this or that along the way.

Welcome teamyoga, depends where you live in Washington. I live N of Spokane and our sales tax ix 7.1%, but I looked at a camper S of Everett and their tax rate is 10.7%. So I purchased one out of state and the sales tax rate was based on where I lived see as it was purchased out of state. So if your tax rate is high, you must be one of the lucky ones living on the west side. Enjoy your Jetta.

Not sure what we will do.

Trying to get the se down more. Wondering if cpo tacks onto factory or runs concurrent.

SE silver is nice with the silver color

CPO begins when factory ends.
Actually I don't think that's true any more.

The warranty now reads 2/24. I think they changed it

I think we are going to go with the se. Se with light package, 19.6k miles. Good service records, certified. 16,700. Plus fees and tax

ETA - called dealer, and VW. Certified starts at the end of the 3/36 Bumper to bumper.

CPO Golf SE. 20K miles. Paid 16,700.

Wheels were mine already.

My 15 wagon with 70K goes back on the 30th.

I just purchased (3 weeks ago) a 2015 passat tdi se with 21000 miles on it, It was a buy back car that has had the retune done to it. It was a c.p.o car and i was told that the warranty adds on at the end of the factory warranty, So my car is covered bumper to bumper until 60000 miles.

I’m turning in my ‘12 B7 TDI 6SpM this coming Wednesday. VW came clean that they didn’t have an Emissions Fix for the 12 MT. Anyway, can anybody tell me who chose the Case Wiring Transfer, how long it took to receive the funds from the day it was turned in? My new chariot awaits; ‘14 E250 Blutec 4MATIC

Thanks everyone,

You should get the email from Chase late in the evening of the business day following your turn-in. If you log in and set up the transfer before midnight (and my last one came at 11:30 PM, so I wasn't able to do so), you should see the money in your account by the next morning. So, you can see the money as early as the second business day after your turn-in.
