With a little over 44,000 miles on the odometer, I got my 2014 JSW (DSG transmission) fixed about a week ago, and received my $7400 check today via electronic funds transfer. Everything went well. As part of my paperwork, I was given a revised EPA mpg estimate: 29 mpg city, 37 mpg highway. This represents a 2 mpg loss for highway driving, no change for city driving. After about 5,000 miles of driving, here are my impressions:
1. Noise. No change for city or highway driving.
2. MPG. The MPG for city driving is the same as before, about 30-31 MPG; while highway driving is 2-4 MPG less than before, about 37-39 MPG.
3. Performance. No discernible difference.
Conclusion: this fix has not detracted from the overall driving experience, and on top of a check for $7400 I have nothing to complain about.
