Emergency Brake Button Broke

My 19month old son was playing in the beetle this past weekend (he loves to drive like daddy) and stepped on the end of the set emergency brake. When he did, the little silver plastic button broke off at the two tabs that held it in place. I can still set the brake and release it...their is a "normal" e-brake button underneath, but it rattles like crazy now and I want to fix it.

Has anyone else had this button come off?? And if so, how did you fix it.

I think I might be able to super glue the button where the tabs broke, as it's really only there for decoration and to press the "normal" e-brake button. Would this work?

Um, mine's been gone for a long time... and no rattle. I'm guessing you've got a piece of plastic in the handle now...can't you just try and get that out?
