15-inch wheels on JSW - Swapping front rotors

I am prepared to get a thorough roasting for this.

But out of curiosity, could you swap in the front end's smaller rotors from the standard golf on a 2012 JSW TDI? This would clear the way for 15-inch wheels. Could you use the same calipers? Would upgraded pads/rotors negate any loss of braking ability this might entail?

Are you sure you need to swap anything to get the 15's to fit?

15" wheels won't fit over stock Sportwagen front rotors.

Calipers and pads for a MKVI Golf (288mm rotors) and a Sportwagen (312mm rotors) appear to be the same. I would imagine the caliper carriers are different, however.

I'm a fan of running 15" wheels (had them on my MKVI Golf), so I understand what you're doing. As far as braking performance goes, I honestly wouldn't worry about it.

people love to upgrade to 312 so finding their take offs should be real easy and cheap.

Thanks for the quick responses; I'm new to the forum (and TDIs) and everyone has been real cool.

I'm guessing posting in classifieds is the best way to perhaps track down some cheap rotors/carriers
