I have a 2006 TDI-PD that has al eak that is dripping from the wheel-well so I was hoping it was a brake line. I took it to a trusted mechanic (who doesn't specialize in VW TDIs) hoping it was nothing too serious and that he'd be able to fix it. It turns out he wasn't able to work on it because he said he was 99% sure that the leak was coming from my turbo because of oil he found in the tube that went from my intercooler to the turbo, which he said only air should be in.

So basically, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good and trusted mechanic in Austin, TX that can more fully diagnose and work on my TDI's turbo because the only thing I've heard about VW dealerships is not to take your car to them.

Look for his contact info.
It sounds like it could be oil from the intercooler, which should not be excessive. Oil can accumulate in the IC from the CCV or from the turbo, like you say, if the seal is faulty or if the car is not driven aggressively enough.
