What mods for A3 swap?

Hello,
I am swapping a 97 Jetta TDI motor into a suzuki samurai. Before I take the motor out of the Jetta I would like to do a few basic mods. I can't do anything crazy because I need the car to have reliable power when in the backcountry. I also need to change the injection pump to a hybrid mechanical one. Any sugestions on who can do this? Do I get a bigger pump to compliment things such as bigger nozzles? A list of mods would be very helpful. I also changed the timing belt. The car has 150,000 miles.

Its uncommon for people in this forum to know about mods to combine with a mechanical pump. Your best bet would be to post up on www.vwdiesel.net

my friend has one one in his mk1 rabbit, with a 12mm pump built by guiles in canada from a 4bt cummins pump.

i would do a waterpump and thermostat while in there to keep it reliable.
