Golf Mk4 azf 1.9 vss troubleshooting advice

Hi,

I have a mk 4 asz 1.9 golf has the usual speedo not working problem with the fuel guage beeping while going around corners ,

It's a 3 wire sensor, and I have negative and 12v supply but the blue and white pluse wire has 9-10v on it ?
I cut the wire and it's getting the 10v feed from the clock side so I traced it back and it goes to a connector just to the right side under the battery and it changes to a solid green colour and goes unbroken to the clocks ,

I checked up at the clocks and I'm getting the 10v from the clocks , has anyone seen this before or have any ideas of a soloution?

Thanks in advance for any advice I can get as I'm stumped.

Have you examined the back of the cluster for any burned marks? Some people have seen little burnouts in the PCB traces. I would think you'll need to remove the back cover to check that.
