What 1.9 diesel came factory drive by cable/mechanical pump?

And what model and year did it come from?

The only one I know of is the AAZ, in Golf/Jetta/Passat in Canada, but not in the US. 1992(?) - 1996 or thereabouts. Engine is indirect injection, not a TDI. Wastegate turbo. About 75 HP.

I had a 1986 1.6 IDI engine and yup about 75 hp. It had a rev limiter too so you could only go so fast in each gear. Getting on the freeway was always fun: wait until nobody is on the ramp, then floor it through the gears and hope you are going 60 mph at the end of the ramp.

1.9L AAZ engine, not sold in US, Canada got them. 75hp.

The 1.6L had several turbo versions, the most powerful was the MF engine, which made 68hp. The later 1.6L turbo was the "ECOdiesel", and only made 59hp.
