So I am looking to buy my first TDI and have been keeping an eye on cars.com and ebay..... Seems like you could buy a mid to late 1990s passat or jetta with around 100k for at least $5000 less than a 2000-something model with similar mileage. Do you guys think it is worth the extra money for a newer car, even if the mileage is the same? I am used to driving older cars so to me, it makes sense to buy a '97 passat.... but I've also always had toyotas and it seems like you can't kill those things. Thanks for your opinions and advice!
