Miles Calculation.

The calculation is not a valid way to determine the number of miles on the car at the time the scandal broke or a valid way to estimate it. If there are going to be miles subtracted from the total everyone should be offered the same number of miles no matter when it is traded in. People should not be penalized for any miles accrued from the time it was announced to the earliest time they can trade it in.

Think you'll find some opposition on that. Many people (admittedly including myself) understand there are no free rides.

If you have a car worth $x and you continue to put mileage on it, it should come at a cost.


However, being that VW is directed to scrap these cars, you are right.. there really is no purpose to this.. I think it really just boils down to that is the only way we know how to do it. Heck, you can't even type in 0 mileage on some sites because it is not valid.

This is not a valid way to determine the value of the car when the news broke.
