Purchase now or fix and wait?

I searched to see if I could find someone else who asked this, because I'm sure they did. I didn't have a lot of luck finding it, so here goes.

My 2011 JSW has a bad AC compressor. It's summer. It's hot. There are some great deals out there now, I was considering parking the car and buying something else now. I'm fine with maybe waiting another few months to get my buyback but I don't want to be stuck paying for two cars a year from now.

I'm definitely taking the buyback regardless of when it happens. I need something a little larger and I'm almost at 100k.

I am buying a cheap used car now because I don't know what I want long-term, and I don't want to lose my low mileage bonus on the buyback
