A thread for those whos cars are totaled/salvaged/rebuilt..

Would like to stary this thread for the small subset of people in this unique situation. I havent read or seen anything for people in our boat.. has anyone else?

What are your plans?

Have you contacted volkswagen as of today to ask ehat their plans, if any, are for those affected by total loss?

Hang onto your documentation and wait. It has already been stated that people who owned these cars as of 18 September 2015 are going to get loss-of-value compensation and it's proposed that this will be half of the depreciated-value component of the payment that current owners will get. It shouldn't matter for what reason you no longer own the car as of today, only that you did own it on 18 Sept 2015 and don't own it on 28 June 2016. In the meantime, and for the moment, ALL threads on this topic other than the main one are being locked.
